Mums In Need chosen as Redbrik Foundation’s first charity for 2024

Written by Redbrik . #Charity & Community

The Redbrik Foundation was excited to announce Mums in Need as its first charity of the month this year.

The Foundation chooses one charity each month from the surrounding area; South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, to receive a donation to assist them in continuing their amazing work within our local communities.

Mums In Need, founded by Laura Riley in 2014, exists to improve support for mums who have experienced coercive control and post-separation abuse.

From providing practical guidance and emotional support to encouraging societal and policy change, and empowering mums with the skills and confidence to move forward with their lives, Mums In Need is an essential charity for many women and we’re proud to support the brilliant work they’re carrying out across the area.

Every month, we ask a different member of our team to nominate a cause close to their heart, and Mums In Need was chosen by Jen Beal, Director at Redbrik.

She said: “I really appreciate the hard work Mums In Need is doing to support local women in very difficult circumstances. Abuse comes in many forms and the work this charity is doing to bring this to light is brilliant and necessary.  We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Mums In Need from all of us here at Redbrik.”

Mums in Need said: "We are thrilled to receive a generous donation of £2000 from the Redbrik Foundation. Thanks to their contribution, we will be able to provide four of our mums with the opportunity to attend a six-week counselling course - a crucial resource in the healing process for those dealing with post-separation abuse. We are very grateful to Redbrik for this donation."

Since it was established in 2020, the Redbrik Foundation has donated tens of thousands to local charitable causes, including Ashgate Hospice, Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Whirlow Hall Farm, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Paces, St Luke’s Hospice, Fairplay and  Pathways of Chesterfield

If your charity, or a charity close to your heart, could benefit from support from the Redbrik Foundation, please contact our Director David Cooper by email at david.cooper@redbrik.co.uk.
