Frequently Asked Questions.

Prior to accepting your offer, we will carry out affordability checks, which will include receiving your mortgage in principle, or proof of cash funds, to ensure you can afford to purchase the property.

When your offer is accepted, you will be asked to pay the reservation fee and sign the reservation agreement. We will also run an AML (anti-money laundering) identification check on each buyer. You will then need to instruct solicitors to act on your behalf for the purchase of the property.

Along with the reservation fee, you have other costs to consider. You may be required to pay a fee if you are getting a mortgage - such as valuation and broker fees. You will also incur charges from your solicitor, and you'll have the opportunity to obtain a quote in advance based on the type of property you're purchasing and the property price. Redbrik can advise on all of the above and help you to find brokers, solicitors, surveyors and removal firms.

You should also consider your monthly charges along with your mortgage, such as; council tax and utility bills.

When the solicitors have finalised all legal matters, exchange of contracts will take place, which is when the purchase is legally binding. Shortly after, you will complete on the property, which is when you become the legal owner and can collect your keys.
