Taking your first step on the property ladder has just been made simpler. Requiring as little as a 5% deposit, as a first-time buyer, you could be settled in your hassle-free, new build home by Summer 2021.
The Help to Buy: Equity Loan Scheme is a loan from the Government that is offered to buyers when buying a newly built home from a home builder registered with the scheme. With the scheme in place, the Government offers loans up to 20% (40% in London) to purchase newly built homes.
Homes England has just announced an extended deadline for the Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme of the 31 May 2021. This applies only to those applications that are underway.
Homes England stated: “We are extending legal completion to 31 May 2021 due to delays caused by Coronavirus.
“This allows an extra two months for homebuilders to complete the build and for homebuyers to legally complete and get the keys to their home.
“There will be no more extensions, so we are asking homebuilders to continue to build at pace.”
No further extensions will be granted after the deadline.
