Dore Moor Garden Centre

This local, family owned garden centre is situated on a six-acre site on the edge of the peak district national park.

Dore Moor Garden Centre stocks a selection of plants, pots and seeds as well as gardening tools and furniture. After shopping, treat yourself to a coffee and cake in the café.

Where to Go

Blacka Moor Nature Reserve

Situated just outside of Sheffield, Blacka Moor is the largest nature reserve belonging to Sheffield Wildlife Trust. Containing 180 hectares of magnificent scenery, the moorland is home to a range of animals and plant life, including red deer, cuckoo and melancholy thistle.


Totley Library

For all your book needs, Totley Library will have something for you to get stuck into. They also offer a range of services, including a practice of the Driving Theory Test Pro and Hazard Perception Test and will provide you information on all local groups and events.

They also run a film club, Totley Library Cinema, showing three films a month – one for adults, one for children and a Thursday afternoon screening for over 65s. All you need to do to attend is sign up to the library and show your library card on entry.

Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet

Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet is a unique 18th century industrial works where you can catch a glimpse of life at home and work at a rural scythe and steelworks.

You can visit the Manager's House, Worker's Cottage, waterwheels, workshops, tilt hammers, a grinding hull, steam engine and the last complete surviving crucible steel furnace in the UK.

Restored and transformed following million Heritage Lottery Funded restoration project, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet is a fantastic family day out.

Dore Moor Inn

Originally a coaching inn, the olde worlde pub was built back in 1816 and its location brought in many travellers looking to rest their horses. Originally called the Devonshire, The Dore Moor Inn was renamed in 1827 after the village of Dore in which it sits.

A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, the picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the menu’s hearty, seasonal pub food, cask ales and fine wines.



A cute and friendly cafe serving breakfast, lunch and hot and cold drinks. All food is home cooked and baked using locally sourced produce.
